OfflineHi Folks,
I will be buying my first compound bow/taljajousi in the next week and am deciding between a used Prestige or Wild Game 65, both made my JahtiJakt. I am new to bow hunting and looking for a suitable bow for a beginner. I also have an option to buy a used PSE Silverhawk. Are any of you able to comment on these bows and recommend one that would be best for a beginner bow hunter in Finland? Thanks for any and all help!
I guess my next post will relate to hunting clubs in the Uusimaa area and how to become a member, etc.
Cheers,
Steve

OfflineWhat is your budget for the setup if I may ask ? I wouldn't suggest any of the jahtijakt bows or any other "cheap" compounds for that matter. There are many good used bows & bow packages for sale on this forum. The sales adds are in Finnish so might be a bit difficult to navigate them.
Another good option might be visiting Rajajousi or some other retailer who specialises in bowhunting, they will get you geared up and help you get started. Not sure how well they handle english, but it's worth a try.

Offlinehello
jahtijakt bows would be good for a first bow, but if you are willing to but a bit more money to the bow i recommend some more famous brand ( pse, bowtech, bear etc)
With those couble hundreds more you can get a bow that will last for a life time. I bet most archery stores in finnland speaks english and all i have shopped had good customer service.

OfflineThanks for the replies!
My budget is under 150 euros for a used bow package, or under 200 euros for a used bow package including arrows. So, it sounds like both of you would suggest buying this PSE Silverhawk that I am considering over the JahtiJakt bows. I did not know that JahtiJakt bows were considered on the cheaper end because they don't seem cheap if purchased new, but I guess it is all relative 🙂
Anyways, this PSE Silverhawk is only 100 euros, is about 4 years old, and comes with a soft carrying bag, quiver, and some crappy arrows. Maybe this is a good place to start with my low budget.
Cheers,
Steve

OfflineZuuku: So, are all JahtiJakts made in China and all PSEs made in the USA?
jek_78: Thanks for the notice, However I am mainly interested in the Prestige which is the more expensive and smaller model.
Pikkuhannu: Thanks for the balanced view on both, sounds like you have experience with both companies. I do like the 1/4 the price part 🙂
At this stage I am leaning towards purchasing a used JahtiJakt Prestige Set including 7-8 arrows (Carbon and Aluminum) as a starting package to begin bowhunting training. Thanks to everyone so far for their input and help!
Cheers,
Steve
